DRONES FOR KIDS

Drones for kids: learning to code by flying

RobonHub is a programmable education drone designed for children aged 10–14. Kids write code from zero with Blockly blocks and see the result in the air, not just on a screen. The drone is under 250 g, ships with propeller guards and has emergency stop on every screen. The curriculum and content were reviewed for this age group by a faculty member of Bursa Technical University's Psychology Department.

What age is it for?

The kit and curriculum are built for ages 10–14. At this age children learn when they see a concrete result: “get the loop wrong and the drone won't turn; get it right and it flies in front of you.” An independent expert review reports that the product is broadly consistent with cognitive, learning and developmental suitability principles for this age group.

Is it safe for children?

Safety was the starting point of the design. Flights run under teacher or instructor supervision, and pre-flight checks are part of the curriculum.

  • Lightweight sub-250 g frame
  • Propeller guards included
  • One-tap emergency stop on every screen
  • Try it in simulation first, then fly the real drone

Can a child with no coding start?

Yes. The first lessons use block coding: kids drag and drop “take off”, “go forward”, “turn” and “land” blocks. They learn loops, conditions and variables through flight missions, then move to Python in the same project when ready.

At home or at school?

RobonHub primarily works with schools, clubs and institutions; the kits are designed for classrooms with a teacher. For individual requests, contact us via the contact page.

Frequently asked

A light (under 250 g), propeller-guarded educational drone with emergency stop that teaches coding step by step. RobonHub CORE was designed for exactly this, for ages 10–14.

It starts with an introduction to aviation and safe-flight rules; then students learn the drone's parts and sensors and write their first autonomous mission with block coding.

Not yet. Coding runs in the browser; real flights need a computer and a small companion app. Mobile support is on our roadmap.
